Ancylostoma caninum (dog hookworm) female adult worm - obtain by biopsy of a human intestine, stained with lactophenol blue. A caninum adults are usually found in the intestine of dogs and rarely one worm only has been found in the intestine of humans especially in North Queensland where it has caused eosinophilic enteritis. Adult male A. caninum 10 x 0.4 mm and female 14 x 0.6 mm with spine at tail end; they have 3 pairs of ventral teeth.
